The TCU Horned Frogs baseball team kicked off their 2023 season with high hopes and expectations. TCU has a history of success in baseball, having won the College World Series in 2015 and making multiple appearances in the NCAA tournament. With a talented group of players and a rigorous schedule, the team is poised to make a strong run this season.

Schedule:

The TCU baseball team's 2023 schedule features 56 games, including 28 home games at Lupton Stadium. The season began on February 17th, with a win against Vanderbilt at Globe Life Field. Some notable games ahead on the schedule include:

  • March 31st - April 2: A three-game series against Texas Tech, another tough in-state opponent.

  • April 6th-8th: A three-game series against Oklahoma State, another strong Big 12 conference opponent.

  • April 28th-30th: A three game series at home against the University of Texas at Austin.

In addition to these games, the Horned Frogs will also play a number of mid-week games against other Texas schools, as well as several out-of-state opponents. The team will also participate in several tournaments, including the Shriner's Hospitals for Children College Classic in Houston and the Frisco Classic in Frisco, Texas.

Performance:

The TCU baseball team has a lot of talent on their roster this season, including several players who were selected in the 2022 MLB draft. Pitcher Jack Meiser and catcher Matt Arnold were both drafted in the first round, while infielder Tyler Collins and outfielder Jaxon Osterberg were both taken in later rounds.

The team also returns several key players from last year's squad, including infielders Justin Dunn and Hunter Wolfe and pitcher Brandon Bennett. With this combination of talent, the Horned Frogs are poised to be a strong contender in the Big 12 conference and beyond.

Viewing Opportunities:

Fans of TCU baseball have several options for viewing the team's games this season. For those who live in the Fort Worth area, Lupton Stadium is the place to be for home games. The stadium has a seating capacity of 4,500 and features a number of amenities, including a video board, a playground for kids, and a variety of food and beverage options.

For those who can't make it to the games in person, several games will be broadcast on television or streaming platforms. The team's games against Texas, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech will all be broadcast on ESPN or Fox Sports, while other games may be available on streaming services such as ESPN+ or FloSports.

Fun Activities for Kids:

Attending a TCU baseball game is a great family-friendly activity, with plenty of fun activities for kids to enjoy. In addition to the playground, the stadium also features a bounce house, a face painting station, and other games and activities. Kids can also participate in the "Horned Frog Kids Club," which includes a variety of perks such as a t-shirt, a membership card, and access to special events.

Overall, the 2023 TCU baseball season is shaping up to be an exciting one. With a challenging schedule and a talented group of players, the Horned Frogs have a good chance of making a deep run in the NCAA tournament. Whether you're a die-hard fan or just looking for a fun family outing, a TCU baseball game is definitely worth checking out.
